Identity, Web, Collateral, physical and AR mapping for The For-site Foundation.  Established in 2003, the FOR–SITE Foundation is dedicated to the creation, understanding, and presentation of art about place. Host to artist residencies, and home to installations by artists such as Andy Goldsworthy and Ai Weiwei.

A GALLERY IN THE WILD

I visited the For–site Foundation in Nevada City for a simple brief: Create an ID, an integrated experience for visitors and artists in residency, and map the property.

FOR-Site is a truly unique place; a gallery in nature, where exhibits are meant to be revealed piece-by-piece.  World-class installations by artists like Andy Goldsworthy and Ai Weiwei are are integrated with the topography, not quite hidden, not meant to be found easily.

There's an adventure and gamification to the experience that I needed to surface: a feeling that you might find, or miss, anything.

I wove topography, musicality, and independence into the ID, map, field–books, and blend of physical and AR experiences all intended to enhance the sensation of a Fine Art gallery dropped in the wilds — staged, and hidden.
